(30% vendange entier): Good dark red with ruby tones. Sexy nose combines black raspberry, smoky minerality, coffee and a whiff of animal fur; smells sweet! Then very ripe and fat in the mouth, with plush, almost syrupy red fruit flavors energized by a note of cherry pit. Still, this wine doesn't offer quite the clarity or lift of the Bouchard vinification. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins. I find this a bit extreme for the year.

Somewhat more moderate wood and menthol characters are present on the spicy liqueur-like aromas of plum, black cherry and earth. The suave and opulently textured middle weight plus flavors possess a wonderfully seductive mouth feel before culminating in a mocha-inflected finish where a touch of warmth appears. This isn't quite as vibrant as the best here though it's still certainly attractive.

Lush, spicy nose, opulent with a slight toastiness and abundant dark fruits. Limpid attack, fresh and delicate. The palate is certainly concentrated but it has a light touch, without compromising its tannic structure.
