The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel-Air has a very attractive, almost airy bouquet with bright red cherry and mulberry fruit infused with cold stone aromas. I like the focus and intensity here. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red fruit, quite firm tannin, relaxing towards the finish with tart red cherries and a pinch of sea salt. Excellent.

(these vines are 35 years old): Moderately saturated red-ruby. Aromas of red cherry, currant and plum are complemented by spicy oak. Sweet and spicy but not particularly creamy or fleshy; in a rather refined style. A second sample from a one-year-old barrel showed cooler currant and licorice aromas, terrific penetrating acidity and a firm tannic spine, more clearly demonstrating the site's high altitude (it's situated just above Clos de Bèze).
A pretty and airy nose exhibits hints of red cherry, earth and pretty floral scents. There is a lovely texture and mouth feel to the mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess fine length on the balanced finale. As is usually the case, this is a Gevrey 1er of relative refinement. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
