The 2015 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a fabulous bouquet with brambly red berry fruit, truffle, bay leaf and a light sous-bois element, though it is less pronounced compared to the 2014. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin. There is a lot of finesse to this wine, reminding me of Rousseau in some ways, armed with a disarming sorbet-like finish that lingers in the mouth. There is so much energy packed into this wine - a Clos de Bèze that is going to be difficult to resist (unless it closes down). Super-bon! Tasted at the Domaine.

The 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru does not deliver the same complexity and precision as Rousseau or Duroché's Clos-de-Bèze, though it offers attractive minty red berry fruit and tobacco leaf aromas and a hint of Earl Grey. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannin, plenty of ripe black cherry, bilberry, brine and spices. I adore the cohesion and depth here, and the silky texture that renders the finish so utterly seductive. This is another outstanding Clos-de-Bèze. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is 100% whole bunch and was matured entirely in new oak. It has a delightful bouquet with cranberry and wild strawberry aromas, fine delineation with the new oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of confit fruit on the entry. It is very well balanced with bright red berry fruit at its heart, a silver bead of acidity and great precision towards the finish that fans out with intention. This is a long-term prospect since it conveys great substance and offers superb salinity on the finish. Excellent. There are seven barrels produced this year.
