Dark red. High-pitched aromas of black raspberry and spices. Penetrating and tightly wound, showing good medicinal reserve to its flavors of black fruits and brown spices. Quite saline and dry, with sound acidity and dusty, building tannins making it tough going today. This wine has been recently racked and appears to be going through a disjointed stage.

(from Clos Solon). A slightly riper and more deeply pitched nose offers up notes of both red and dark currant along with plenty of earth and sauvage elements. I like the energy and delineation displayed by the delicious, supple and relatively round flavors that terminate in a balanced and linear finish that lacks the depth of the Pommard.
