The 2015 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru shows better here than it did just after bottling. The fresh, lightly honeyed bouquet demonstrates better delineation than others in its flight and gains complexity with the development of subtle white peach and fern aromas. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and the light reduction works well since it does not impede the terroir expression. The nicely weighted finish offers satisfying persistence, though I would prefer to consume this now rather than later. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Clean and easy and almost sweet. Exciting. Creamy. Much richer than the average Chablis! But a nice, if atypical, wine. (JR)

Very pale yellow. Sexy scents of nectarine, pear and musky minerality. Supple, gentle wine with a saline reserve to buffer its enticing stone fruit sweetness. A step up in sweetness, volume and length from the last two wines, but this distinctly salty wine needs a couple years in the cellar to express itself.

The 2015 Chablis Cote de Lechet, which was aged for five months on the fine lees after 12 months in stainless steel and used barrel, has a pretty, floral bouquet with hints of yellow flower percolating through the citrus fruit. The palate is balanced but disappointingly lacks the complexity of the nose and seems to fade quickly on the finish. My hopes had been so raised by the nose that I came away feeling short-changed.
