Extremely pale pink. Fresh strawberry and floral scents and flavors show good clarity and spicy lift. Silky and light on its feet, with a faint touch of bitterness that emerges with air and adds finishing cut.

The 2017 Cotes de Provence Rose Whispering Angel is a very good effort from this export-focused winery. A blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Vermentino, and Tibouren, it offers peach and melon aromas along with a plump, medium-bodied palate and a crisp, grapefruit-y finish. Yes, it's a well-known brand, but don't turn your nose up at it, as it represents solid grape sourcing and winemaking.

Very low-temperature fermentation nose, and palate. Clean and fresh. Crisp. I wouldn't say this was obviously inferior to Rock Angel. (JR)
