The 2016 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru has an engaging bouquet with white peach, pressed white flowers and subtle touches of struck flint. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and linear with impressive precision on the linear finish with just a hint of lime and apricot on the aftertaste. This is another excellent 2016 from Benoît Droin.

Musky, exotic aromas of peach, apricot, clove, nutmeg and orange blossom introduce the 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir, a medium to full-bodied, glossy wine with a textural attack, a deep, dense core and a youthfully chewy, structural finish. It's a rich, gourmand Vaudesir that should be worth following for a decade, though purists looking for incisive, mineral Chablis won't gravitate toward its baroque profile.

(began in 40% oak): Light yellow. Riper and spicier on the nose than the Blanchots, offering aromas of pineapple and lemon. Thicker than the Blanchots, showing very good citrussy energy but not quite the definition or finesse of the Blanchots. This is typically a warmer and more powerful wine, says Droin, and that's the case here. Shows a lemon tart quality in the middle palate and finishes with a lightly phenolic character. This will need more élevage as well as bottle aging to show more complexity and distinction.
