The 2016 Chablis Tête d’Or has a light, slightly waxy bouquet with orange blossom. Light quince scents gradually unfurl in the glass. The palate is well balanced with quite a rounded opening and fine acidity. I would have liked a little more mineralité to come through on the finish. Tasted at the Domaine Direct tasting in London.

Some real intensity here and correct young Chablis flavours, build and astringency. Could be worth a punt even though it’s ‘only’ a village Chablis. Distinctly superior. (JR)

The 2016 Chablis Tête d'Or is a real success this year, wafting from the glass with notes of preserved lemon, honeysuckle and oyster shell. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, glossy and concentrated, with good depth, succulent acids and a saline finish. It's a classy representation of the appellation that will be immediately approachable, and it comes recommended.
