Score 88-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Aug 2017

(one-third of this wine was raised in wood but it's all in tank now): Bright, light, green-tinged yellow. Aromas of lime, baked bread and mineral reduction. Fat and musky in the mouth but with firm minerality giving this premier cru more precision than normal at this stage. The tactile, dusty finish offers good cut. Much less exotic than the 2015 version.

The 2016 Chablis 1Er Cru Beauroy was blended the week of my visit in June, so it was very cloudy with lees. To be honest, the nose is far too primal, although the palate is nicely focused with a hint of oyster shell toward the finish. I will defer judgement for now but this Beauroy does convey a sense of freshness and energy. Aug 2017, www.robertparker.com
