Score 96/100 · Drink 2019-2039, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Apr 2012

The 2009 Chambertin-Clos de Beze Reserve is strikingly beautiful. Today the 2009 comes across as virtually seamless, with no hard edges and fabulous overall harmony. Black cherries, menthol, cloves and licorice are just a few of the aromas and flavors that come to life in the glass, but the Reserve is first and foremost a wine of extraordinary textural brilliance. Damoy used 100% new barrels here, all of which the wine has absorbed. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Pierre Damoy’s 2009s have turned out magnificently. Damoy remains one of my favorite under-the-radar growers. Importer: Peter Weygandt, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800
