2016 Bonnes Mares Vieilles Vignes

Bright ruby-red. Superripe aromas of black raspberry and musky herbs complicated by a suggestion of leesy reduction. Fat, plush and sweet in the mouth, conveying a texture of liquid velvet and outstanding depth. Saline flavors of raspberry, herbs, mocha and underbrush fill the mouth without giving any impression of heaviness. This extremely rich wine is remarkably relaxed for Bonnes-Mares (production here was 30 hectoliters per hectare), with its noble tannins perfectly supported by the wine's concentrated, nearly liqueur-like raspberry fruit.
