Score 92-94/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2019

Hailing exclusively from "terres rouges," 2017 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is the king of the cellar, unfurling in the glass with a less outgoing bouquet of peony, cherries, cassis, currant leaf and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and structured, with a rich chassis of fine-grained tannins, juicy acids and a long, mineral finish. While it's still quintessentially Chambolle, it's the most muscular wine in the range and will demand the most patience.
