The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is excellent, unwinding in the glass with a complex bouquet that mingles citrus oil and crushed chalk with notes of oyster shell, paraffin wax and light reduction. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive, with excellent concentration, racy acids and all the tension and cut that Chablis purists are seeking. This should age well and comes warmly recommended.

Bottled. Taut, zesty grapefruit nose. Intense and precise, bone dry and great acidity giving a mouth-watering finish. Intense at the core, long too. (JH)
