Round and jolly and easy. Very transparent and fruity – much more fruit concentration than the Champerrier. (JR)

A cuvée produced from thirty-year-old vines, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux bursts with aromas of cassis, raspberries, currant leaf and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and succulent, with a juicy core of fruit that largely conceals its fine structuring tannins. Pure and elegant, it's an approachable Champeaux which will offer a broad drinking window.
