The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite-Chapelle 1er Cru feels a little pinched on the nose and does not quite deliver the fruité of its peers at this early stage. The palate is slightly grainy in texture and there is a fine bead of acidity here. Quite a structured and spicy Petite-Chapelle, with a dash of black pepper on the finish. This certainly improves with aeration.
