Score 93/100 · Drink 2022-2050, Neal Martin, Oct 2019

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru has a focused and well-defined bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit, sous-bois and crushed stone. There is wonderful precision here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin and a nigh perfect line of acidity that keeps this beautifully poised. There is a feminine, balletic nature to this Gevrey. There is a tempting, almost ostentatious finish. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
