Cask sample. Very dark crimson. Sample definitely tired on the nose. Loose and impossible to score? (JR)

The 2018 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is a vineyard where half the vineyard was pulled out in winter 2018. It does not deliver quite the same precision and detail as the Chapelle-Chambertin this year. Intense blackberry, raspberry and light cedar aromas unfold gently in the glass. The palate is well balanced with more red fruit compared to the Chapelle, a slightly creamy texture and a sensual, very harmonious, quite rich yet detailed finish. It might drink slightly earlier than the Chapelle-Chambertin, but it may well have equal longevity.
