FINE+RARE, Mar 2020

Pale lemon coloured, the 2020 Domaine de l’Ile Porquerolles white has an attractive and expressive nose combining citrus notes, ripe white peach and notes of delicate white flowers. On the palate, there is more body with aromas of riper stone fruit, almost hints of dried fruit at first, then the minerality appears, along with acidity that brings a balancing tension. The wine has a long, clean, focused, pure and saline finish. This is already drinking very well and will be hard to resist on release.

The 2020 Cotes De Provence Porquerolles Blanc is also outstanding. Revealing a light gold hue, it’s crisp and exotic aromatically, offering lively tangerine, crushed citrus, and white peach as well as a terrific salty, mineral sensation on the palate. Medium-bodied, nicely textured, and balanced, it's a versatile, impeccably made white that will shine on a hot summer day on its own, but will be even better on the dinner table. Drink it over the coming year or so.
