Score 89-91/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Unfurling in the glass with a pretty bouquet of cherries, raspberries, violets, peony and cinnamon, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and fine-boned, with a pretty core of perfumed fruit and delicate structuring tannins. This is an elegant, fine-boned Chambolle in this inherently powerful vintage.

60% whole bunch, 25% new oak. Barrel sample. Mid cherry. Pretty red fruits, very Chambolle, lifted and not marked by the stems, pure fruit. More obvious tannins on the palate, a stem effect in youth, perhaps, but they are paper fine and completely in tune with the fruit. Light on its feet and long. Mouth-watering and moreish. (JH)
