The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru has a ripe red cherry and iodine-scented bouquet that feels opulent compared to the 2019. The palate is rounded and supple on the entry, and very silky, leading to a plump, generous finish that just needs a little more tension. Fine.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru has a pastille-like purity on the nose; not as complex as others I have tasted, but fragrant and floral in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. A pliant Cherbaudes, though it needs a little more grip to develop on the finish. As such, I would drink this over the next ten years.
