Score 90/100 · Drink 2013-2015, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2009

The 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a very pretty, well-balanced offering redolent of dark cherries, flowers, black berries, grilled herbs and leather. A long, refined finish rounds out this accessible Amarone. The aromas and flavors are already slightly forward, suggesting this medium-bodied Amarone is best enjoyed within the next few years.

Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015. Tedeschi seems to struggle achieving a consistent level of quality across all of their offerings. I found the simpler wines better balanced than the more important bottles. This may very well be a case of trying too hard, as the estate is clearly capable of making beautiful wines.
