Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2025, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Jun 2023

A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah, sourced from vines planted on clay-limestone soils, the 2022 Cotes de Provence Rose reveals aromas of red berries, spices, peach, watermelon, spring flowers and pomegranate. Medium-bodied and elegantly oaky with a spicy touch, it’s fresh and fruity with a mouthwatering, elegant finish. This rosé benefits from the expertise of the Perrin family.

30% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Cinsault and 20% Rolle from vines located in the foothills of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain. The grapes were harvested by hand and destemmed. The Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle underwent direct pressing, and the Syrah was partially vinified using the saignée method. Fermentation in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks with minimal intervention. Aged on lees in stainless steel (95%) and in barrels (5%) with bâtonnage. Winemaker Pierre Perrin. TA 3.69 g/l , pH 3.25, RS 0.8 g/l . Natural cork. Bottle weight 664 g. Available in over 200 shops. Smoky nose and lots of acidity. Quite tart. Not quite interesting enough for the price. (JR)
