Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2016-2027, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin En Champs comes from vines planted in 1903 on the ever-popular "3309" rootstock. It is usually picked very late during the harvest. It has a ripe, candied bouquet with vanilla and baking powder scents infiltrating the blackberry and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. It is quite modern in style, but in a positive sense in terms of the appreciable balance and the “swagger” on the finish. This is a powerful Gevrey-Chambertin that will benefit from a decade in bottle.
