The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Aux Charmes 1er Cru is tightly wound on the nose, which features dainty red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit and a touch of wet limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, chalky tannins. This has a fine bead of acidity and a structured, slightly austere finish that will mellow with time in bottle. A keeper.

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Aux Charmes 1er Cru has a brooding intensity on the well-defined, focused nose of blackberry, woodland and pine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, the 80% whole bunches discreet and only noticeable toward the harmonious, white pepper and crushed stone finish. Excellent.
