Deep and rich, but also wonderfully creamy and beautifully balanced, this is a classic 1er Cru Morgeot with the stature and finesse of a Grand Cru white Burgundy. Great harmony of fruit and oak. Impeccable winemaking! Very long, super-silky finish with so much chalky minerality. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeots 1er Cru has an open, quite floral nose with wild peaches and apricot blossom, just a hint of saffron in the background. The palate is very well balanced with orange pith, ginger and light citrus notes, very focused with a keen line of acidity, it fans out towards the finish. Good persistence. This has an approachability but it does have the legs to last.
