Sweet start but very chunky, tannic finish. I don’t think this vintage is one of this producer’s greatest. Fast fade on the finish. (JR)

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Poissenots has one of the most attractive bouquets from Geantet-Pansiot. There is more purity, more Pinoté here compared to other wines, perfumed and quite floral in style--with the oak here nicely subsumed by the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fleshy in the mouth and quite harmonious. This domaine's wines can sometimes lack elegance, however, this shows that it can be delivered. Classy.
