Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has quite an intense bouquet for its class, offering raspberry coulis and orange peel scents plus touches of crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, nicely balanced if just needing a little more grip on the finish. At the moment, I prefer the nose to the palate, but let’s see how this turns out in bottle.
