The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard (négoce) offers up notes of plums, cherries, sweet soil tones and cinnamon. It's medium to full-bodied, with a textural, charming attack that segues into a firmer, youthfully chewy mid-palate and finish. This is produced from purchased grapes from a plot just behind Lignier's winery.

The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard feels just a little smudged on the nose, lacking the delineation of other cuvées from Lignier. The palate is fleshy and candied on the entry, with orange zest and tangerine infusing the red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is attractive harmony on the finish, although it never transcends its Village Cru status.
