Aromas of raspberries, sweet spices, plums and raw cocoa introduce the 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard (négoce), a medium to full-bodied, bright and lively wine with a pretty core of crunchy fruit that's framed by powdery tannins. As readers will remember, this is produced from purchased grapes from a plot just behind Lignier's winery.

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard comes from purchased fruit. It has a refined bouquet with black fruit, black olive and light floral aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins on the entry. This is structured and strict, a little austere on the finish - hopefully it will gain some flesh by the time of bottling.
