Black core. Sweet vanilla note over the dark fruit. A hint of fragrant sweet tobacco. Juicy and lively with silky freshness and juicy persistence. Just a little tart on the finish. (JH)

This elegant 2011 offers notes of sweet currants, cherries, spice box and earth along with medium body and a soft, round style. The wine narrows out in the finish. Consume it over the next 5-6 years.

70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark blackberries, soft fruit cake. Some baked character, but not un-fresh. Lovely shape, in fact. Unassuming, and all the more attractive therefore: crucially drinkable. (RH)
