The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru has a generous bouquet, perhaps not possessing the same precision as some of its fellow 2017s, but displaying baking powder and white flower aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The supple palate is fresh on the entry, with attractive roundness and orange peel and pink grapefruit notes, leading to a detailed, understated finish. Give it two or three years for the aromatics to step up a gear.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes offers up a textbook bouquet of musky peach, honey and crisp yellow orchard fruit, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate that's nicely layered, with vibrant balancing acids that temper its gourmand core of fruit, concluding with a chalky finish.
