The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys, from vines adjacent to Charmes-Chambertin, is well-defined on the nose, offering blackberry, bilberry, touches of meat juice and light savory notes. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and vibrant, with fine grip on the entry and an almost symmetrical poise on the graphite finish. Excellent.

Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys has a delightful bouquet of nicely defined, perfumed red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas; subtle blood orange scents surface with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity, conveying a sense of symmetry but tightening up on the finish, which suggests it will deserve 4–5 years of bottle maturation.
