The 2019 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru has a slightly muffled nose that needs to muster more delineation. (I did see some improvement after leaving my sample aside for 10 minutes.) The taut, vibrant palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, with a fine line of acidity. Its pedigree really shows through on the detailed finish. Excellent, but it needs time in bottle.

Tank sample. There’s more sweetness to the fruit here compared with the Preuses, more rounded and more creamy on the palate, so that it seems fuller in the mouth than the Preuses. But it is not particularly long. High acid needs time to smooth into the wine. (JH)
