The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes sheds a touch of youthful reduction to reveal aromas of cherries, wild berries, exotic spices, forest floor and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it displays considerable promise.

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru has quite a rich and concentrated bouquet with intense black cherry and blueberry fruit, fine definition, one of the most floral from Lignier this years. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, a touch of salinity with an elegant, refined finish with just a hint of eau-de-vie on the aftertaste.
