Medium red. Musky, open-knit, somewhat sauvage aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, truffle and smoke. Fresh, sweet and ready to drink, with red fruit, truffle and underbrush flavors supported by soft, fine-grained tannins.

(finished its malo early, in January of last year): Palish red. Slightly roasted aromas of redcurrant and rocks, with a faint dried-berry character. Fat and sweet but with lowish acidity to the flavors of strawberry, smoke and underbrush. Slightly high-toned and funky. This will be best for drinking over the next few years.
The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice comes across as a bit raw today. The aromatics are quite expressive, but the structural elements are a bit disjointed at this stage. Dark fruit, spice and crushed flowers emerge over time. The Justice shows good potential, but, it, too, needs time.
