Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Nov 2023

This is a bright, juicy and red-fruited village Gevrey-Chambertin. Raphet uses 10% new oak across their village wines and it’s integrated well here, barely noticeable at all. Alongside the cherry and raspberry fruit, there is the scent of florals with a minerality and savoury note that fills the finish.

This is also aromatically bright with cool and pretty aromas of mostly red cherry and newly turned earth. The delicious, succulent and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess a seductive mouthfeel on the lingering finish. I like the balance though a few years of keeping should help to add depth over time.
