The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers light, tertiary red fruit on the nose that needs more intensity. The palate is balanced with good sapidity on the entry, fine grip with a lightly spiced yet simple finish. Might be worth trading up to the Vigne Belle.

Cask sample. Notably pale ruby. Much paler than many Gevreys. Lively and fresh in a sweet, slightly rhubarby idiom with strawberry notes. Competent and not too heavy. Polished tannins but no persistence. (JR)
