Aromas of crisp green apples, Anjou pear, oyster shell and light reduction preface the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, a medium to full-bodied, taut and chiseled wine that's mineral and incisive, with racy acids and a long, saline finish.

The 2019 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a wonderful, refined bouquet. A little earthier than the Vaillons, with undergrowth and chalky scents coming through. The palate is well balanced, with good concentration and real depth and grip but also elegance. Hints of nutmeg and white chocolate appear toward the persistent finish. Superb.

The 2019 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a well-defined and quite complex bouquet of orange pith and yellow plum aromas; you could nose this all day. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and superb salinity. Plenty of energy in this Montmains, leading to an airy, citrus-fresh finish. Give it 2–3 years in bottle.
