Surpassing the 2017 rendition, Mortet's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers up aromas of cassis, smoky berry fruit and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, fine-boned and elegant, its sappy core of fruit is framed by refined tannins. It's beautifully balanced and will drink well young.

Very deep crimson. Sweet start and very intense. This almost tastes of intensity of ambition. Really rather distinctive with suave fruit and then tannin but it does taste of Gevrey. (JR)
