(60% new oak; from "cold soil under Cazetiers with a real combe influence," noted Mortet; always high in grape sugars but with good acid retention): Bright medium red. Musky redcurrant, a whiff of violet and a slightly grilled note on the nose. Dense, sweet, classic Gevrey with lovely vinosity and lift; conveys a strong impression of chewy, salty extract. Finishes classically dry, with impressive rising length and suave tannins. Should make an outstanding village wine.
