Drink 0-0, Neal Martin, Oct 2025

The 2021 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has some Brettanomyces on the nose that obscures the terroir expression and nullifies the fruit. Unsurprisingly, the palate feels stripped and bitter. I will not score based on this. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a backward bouquet; a mixture of red and black fruit, quite estuarine and needing a little more coherence. Hints of Seville orange marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, a healthy sprinkling of white pepper here and a nicely detailed yet slightly conservative finish.
