The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Blanchards 1er Cru has a more open, transparent bouquet than the Les Millandes, perhaps showing a touch more mineralité . The palate is lively and full of energy on the entry, offering a mixture of red and black fruit and supple tannin, but impressive in terms of grip and density toward the finish. There is a brightness to this Morey Premier Cru that bodes well for the future, once in bottle.
