2005 Amarone della Valpolicella

The Bertani 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella stands alone because of its thick concentration and savory aromas of tarry spice, campfire ash and barbecue. Many of these qualities are distinctly linked to this vintage that produced very exuberant fruit with big berries and lots of sweetness. The clusters were picture-perfect at harvest time. This resulting wine is a little thick in texture and soft on the close. There's a lot of stuffing here with aromas of brandied plum and cherry liqueur.
