**Note: a 6.03 ha monopole** Like the '11 La Romanée there is a fresh and pure nose that displays aromas of essence of red pinot fruit along with an abundance of earth and sauvage characters. There is excellent richness to the intense and overtly powerful medium-bodied flavors that also brim with minerality on the tautly muscular finish. I like the balance and delivery and it's really quite interesting that two vineyards that abut one another can deliver such markedly different drinking experiences.

Monopole. Gentle, almost delicately floral on the nose. Lively freshness just keeps up with the mild fruit and dryish tannins. Dry but lingering finish. (JH)
