Limpid violet. Expansive aromas of red and dark berry preserves, cola, incense and candied violet; a penetrating, smoky mineral quality adds focus. A core of juicy acidity supports sweet, deep-pitched cherry, blueberry and spicecake flavors that gain weight in the glass. The impressively long, persistent finish features polished tannins that frame lingering blue fruit and floral notes.

The 2016 Camí Pesseroles is mostly Cariñena with some Garnacha that fermented separately, and it has some volatility and a rusticity that represents the place and the old style of the wines from Priorat. But the wine has a very low pH that gives it a sensation of freshness. There are notes of raw meat, iron and wet slate. It matured in oak barriques. 2016 was a short vintage, and only 1,900 bottles were produced.
