Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, the 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre by Duplessis has a comparatively exotic bouquet for this vineyard, with notes of fennel, almost menthol, emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with fresh acidity, quite harmonious in the mouth with that hint of menthol enlivening the finish. There is certainly good concentration here, maybe a little obvious for a Chablis but it is really very delicious.
