Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2024-2036, Neal Martin, Dec 2021

The 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is matured entirely in new oak. The wood comes through strongly on the nose and obfuscates the fruit, quite minty with aeration, yet somehow rather generic. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, quite attractive red fruit that it is currently smothered in oak. Good length, though it needs more personality.
