Plums and mixed red, blue, and black fruits emerge from the 2022 Saint Joseph, along with spice, dried flowers, and potpourri nuances. Medium-bodied and supple on the palate, it shows an elegant, delicious style and beautiful overall balance. My money is on this being an outstanding Saint Joseph.

100% destemmed. 18 months in fine-grained oak barrels (Allier and Nevers, 10% new). Cask sample. Tasted blind. The nose is bright, floral and brimming with energy. Lots of freshness and a medium-bodied effort – there is oak but it is well balanced with the fine-grained tannins that caress the palate. Really supple, fresh and layered finish. Such delicacy for the vintage, and a long linear finish. (AC)
