Score 93/100 · Drink 2026-2041, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2026

Based on 100% Syrah that was fully destemmed and aged 18 months in 100% new French oak, the 2023 Côte Rôtie Rose Pourpre offers beautiful framboise, cedary herbs, blood orange, and baking spices on the nose. It's medium-bodied, has an elegant, seamless mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length. Coming from the iron-rich schist soils of the Côte Rozier lieu-dit, this is a powerful, polished Côte Rôtie that will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and evolve gracefully over the following decade-plus. Drink 2026-2041.

The fragrant 2023 Côte-Rôtie Rose Pourpre first reveals crushed violets, orange rind, white pepper and whiffs of black cherry. Medium-bodied and even-textured, the 2023 is all about elegance and perfume, doubling down with fine-brushed detail on the uplifting exit.
