Score 92/100 · Drink 2028-2038, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, May 2025

Crafted from vines planted on sandstone, marl and limestone soils, the 2022 Minervois Les Fontanilles, a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault, evokes aromas of dark berries, spices, Provence herbs, licorice and pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it's perfectly balanced, with sweet tannins and concluding with a long, spicy and mineral finish. Matured in equal parts stainless steel and barrels, this is a really nice wine that can improve with 3-5 years in the cellar.

Jean-Paul Tollot & Anne Gros

Anne Gros is better known for her estate in Vosne-Romanée, as is her partner Jean-Paul Tollot for his family’s Domaine Tollot-Beaut in Chorey-lès-Beaune. Beyond Burgundy, however, the duo makes some impressive wine in Cazelles in the Minervois, working with higher-altitude vineyards.
